“The Army has the largest graduate medical education program in the military and as a result, medical students have broad residency and fellowship opportunities and they receive higher pay. Internal medicine physicians in the Army typically earn more than civilian peers and can pursue a specialty fellowship later without taking a pay cut. With these benefits and other opportunities for training, leadership, research and travel, Army internal medicine careers really offer high value and great overall career satisfaction.”
